Missions opportunities

Agriculture and Farming.

Africa On Fire Ministries is looking for volunteers who have knowledge of farming to help in our Joseph Project in Chibuto, Mozambique.

The Joseph Project is designed to support the Center of Hope so it can be self sustaining.

The Center of Hope in Chibuto, Mozambique feeds 220 kids - most of them orphans.

The Joseph Project will help the orphans and also the other children from the surrounding local villages and communities that are affected by malnutrition.

We believe that everything we do is a form of discipleship for the volunteer during the work as they will also teach some of the local people to do the same.

Africa on Fire Ministries owns a modern tractor with various implements, just waiting for a farmer to come and teach both the operating and the care.

What are the requirements?

1. Must be a Christian and provide a pastoral reference

2.have farming or horticultural experience

3. self funded travel and personal needs covered with evidence provided of appropriate medical and travel  insurance

Africa on Fire offers basic accommodation and food on a small contributory basis.

Africa on Fire - Center of Hope has a project currently being built for the orphaned children of Chibuto in Mozambique, a place where many children have lost their parents because of HIV/AIDS. This Ministry was commissioned by God to build the Center of Hope that will help the children by providing a home that is set up as a family unit, giving these children opportunity to be part of a family. Each home functions as an individual family unit, and includes giving them education, the opportunity to attend school as the Center will shortly commence building a school. Also the Center of Hope will assist them in the future by giving them opportunity to attend the future trade schools and to be involved in Ministry by attending the bible school.

Giving them good medical care on the Centre’s future medical clinic is also seen as a significant part of the Center of Hope’s duty of care to all the children taken in.

The vision is to have the children fully equipped by the time they leave the Center to start their own lives or families.

The Center of Hope has currently completed 2 children’s houses and over 2 miles of the security, boundary wall.

The current building projects

1.     Cafeteria

2.     One church building

3.     Tillapier fish tank (to provide food for the Center)

 Requirements:

1.     Must be a christian and provide a pastoral reference

2.     Some construction knowledge or a hard working person with a positive attitude

3.     Must be willing to get their hands dirty and be part of the valuable contribution to the community.

4.     Self funded travel and personal needs covered and evidence provided of appropriate medical and travel insurance

Sports volunteer

The Center of Hope has over 200 children that they look after, there are also many more children from the surrounding villages and local communities.

AOF-COH is looking for someone who can come and teach sports to these children,

In the past we have had a volunteers teach soccer and basketball.

The children involved have had no opportunities at all as they live in the surrounding villages.

Bringing sports to them will be a great help as we create opportunities which other wise would not be there. Sports also offers opportunities to engage with the local children to get to know them, to help them, to support and encourage them etc

Sports to be considered:

1.     Football-Soccer

2.     Athletics

3.     Basketball

4.     Volleyball

Requirements:

1.     Must be a christian and provide a pastoral reference

2.     Some coaching skills and enthusiastic with a positive attitude.

3.     Self funded travel and personal needs covered with evidence provided of appropriate medical and travel insurance

4.      AOF offer basic acommodation and food on a small contributory basis
